Major refurbishment for Bridlington Bus Station causes changes for Pocklington bus

The 45 EastRider service will be affected

Bridlington Bus station will be closed from Monday for up to three weeks due to the refurbishment.

Bridlington Bus Station is to close on Monday, 10 January, for up to three weeks for a major refurbishment.

New bus shelters are to be installed as part of the three weeks of major refurbishments which get underway on Monday.

The £35,000 project will also include the cleaning of tarmac areas, re-painting of pedestrian guardrails.

Due to the closure of the bus station, the East Yorkshire Buses service 45/45a (York via Driffield and Pocklington) will instead be stopping at Stop C - Queen Street (Outside Cosmic Gifts).

Colin Walker, East Riding of Yorkshire Council's Transportation Services Group Manager, said:

“We apologise to bus passengers in Bridlington for the inconvenience caused by this temporary closure, but we hope they will appreciate the improvements we are making. We are carrying out the refurbishment at the quietest time of the year, to keep any disruption to an absolute minimum.

At the end of the works, bus passengers will find the bus station looks much brighter and far more welcoming. We have already invested in the provision of real time bus information at Bridlington bus station, and these new works will further improve waiting facilities for passengers.”
