Although the Christmas Lights Switch On ceremony in York has been cancelled, the lights will still be on, with the city's four medieval wall gates being illuminated as part of the display. We recommend visiting the lights and York Christmas Market. The lights and market are on from Thursday 18th November until Thursday 23rd December.
Queen Victoria Square will be illuminated on Thursday 18th November. The event starts at 5pm where Father Christmas will introduce a number of local artists who will entertain crowds until 6:45pm. Then a countdown and switch on will take place from the Lord Mayor of Hull. Weather dependent there will be a short fireworks display to accompany the switch on.
The Bridlington Light Switch On is also taking place on Friday 26th November at 6:30pm. Father Christmas will be switching on the lights on King Street
