MATCH REPORT: South Cave United 1-3 Pocklington Town 1sts

The latest match report from Pocklington Town A.F.C

Pocklington Towns Humber Premier league 1st team made the short trip to take on South Cave United in the East Riding Senior cup last Saturday and despite going a goal down early on, rallied to come from behind with a Jake Dunham double and Rob Cooney strike to see Town to a 3-1 win and progress through to the next round. This weekend the team are at home to Hessle Sporting Club in the League Cup.

POCKLINGTON TOWN 2nds 1-1 BISHOPTHORPE WHITE ROSE

A goal from Adam Falkingham saw the York Minster Engineering Football league Division 1 2nd team to a hard earned point at home against Bishopthorpe White Rose FC last weekend as a good performance in a close game resulted in a 1-1 draw. The team are away at Osbaldwick this weekend.

STRENSALL TIGERS Reserves 0 - 2 POCKLINGTON TOWN 3rds

A goal apiece for Sam Parkinson and Jason Nattrass saw the York league Reserve A 3rd team to a 2-0 win away to Strensall Tigers Reserves last weekend. In a dominant performance from Town, an inability to take chances meant that the score remained close until the last 15 minutes and Town will look to continue with this form at home to current division leaders Dunnington Reserves this weekend.

POCKLINGTON TOWN 4ths 3 - 2 EGGBOROUGH FC

After Jake Hawkett saw an early effort saved, Lewis Gossip opened the scoring for Towns 4th team with a 22 yard left foot curler in off the far post in their home friendly against Eggborough FC last Saturday. The visitors equalised with a well placed shot of their own before the break  and then took the lead on the hour when poor marking from a free kick set up a 6 yard header.

Despite this setback, Towns young players stuck to their game and a second half brace from Harvey Turner saw them turn things around and run out 3-2 winners. The team is back in action this Saturday with an away league game against Brandesburton AFC Reserves as they look to take this performance into their league form.
